Anchor investors
Anchor investors is a concept launched by SEBI in the year 2009.These are the institutional investors who are invited to subscribe/purchase the shares before the IPO opens so that, it popularises the issue and increase the confidence of other investors and also to improve the demand of those shares.
Each investor needs to invest atleast a minimum of Rs 10 crore. They are allotted share one day before IPO opens.
In the year 2021 ,63 companies raised Rs 1.19 trillion through IPO's .
