  LAND UTILIZATION  Land is a scarce resource, whose supply is fixed for all practical purposes. At the same time, the demand for land for various competing purposes is continuously increasing with the increase in human population and economic growth.Land use pattern at any given time is determined by several factors including size of human and livestock population, the demand pattern, the technology in use, the cultural traditions, the location and capability of land, institutional factors like ownership pattern and rights scale regulation. NITI Aayog

Introduction: In 2014,The 65 year old Planning Commission that supervised five year plan for the economic development of the country got dissolved and a think tank- NITI Aayog took its place. The union government of India announced the formation of NITI Aayog on Ist January,2015. 
NITI Aayog is Constituted with the order to serve the needs and aspirations of people of India.While designing strategic and long term policies and programmes for the Government of India, NITI Aayog also provides technical advice to the centre and state.

Objectives of NITI Aayog
a)The active participation of states in light of national objectives and to provide framework for national agenda.
b)To promote cooperative federalism through well ordered support initiative and mechanisms with the states.
c)To construct methods to formulate a reliable strategy at village level and aggregate these at higher level of government.
d)An economic policy that incorporates national security interests.
e)To pay special consideration to sections of society that may be at risk of not profiting satisfactorily from economic growth.
f)To promote strategic and long term policy and initiatives and review their programme and effectiveness
g)To grant advice and encourage partnership between important stakeholders and national international think tanks as well as educational and policy research institution.
h)To generate knowledge, innovation, entrepreneurial support system through shared community of national and international experts.
i)To provide a platform for resolution of inter sectoral and inter departmental issues to speed up the accomplishment of progressive agenda.
j)To preserve state of art Resource centre, be a repository of research on good governance and best practices in sustainable and equitable development as well as help their distribution.
k)To effectively screen and assess the implementation of programmes and initiatives ,including identification of needed resources to strengthen the likelihood of success.
l)To pay attention to technology improvement and capacity building for discharge of programmes and initiatives.
m)To undertake other necessary activities to implementation of national development agenda and objectives.

Composition of NITI Aayog
•Prime Minister of India is the Chairperson
Shri Narendra Modi.
•Governing council consist of Chief Minister of all states and Lt. Governor's of UT's of India.
•Regional council consists of Chief minister of state and Lt. Governor's of UT's of India . These will be chaired by Chairperson of NITI Aayog.
•Special invitees :Eminent experts , specialists with knowledge, nominated by prime minister.
•Full time organization comprised of Chairperson , 
vice chairperson( Dr.Rajiv Kumar) ,
 full time members (Shri V.K Saraswat , Prof.Ramesh Chand , Dr. V.K Paul), 
part time members ( 2 from foremost universities , leading research organization,other innovative organization in an ex officio capacity.) 
•Ex officio members - 4 from council of ministers nominated by prime minister.
(Shri Raj Nath Singh , Shri Amit Shah , Smt Nirmala Sitharaman , Shri Narendra Singh Tomar)
•Chief Executive officer: He will be in the rank of Secretary of government of India.

WHEAT CRISES  Introduction : •On may 4,the government lowered its wheat production for the crop year ending june.  •The production is expected to fall during warm weather condition on most part of wheat producing states of Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh,  Uttar Pradesh.  Decline in wheat production •Wheat production has seen a drop during winter.
